This is an example of a student’s digipak called Reverse by
a band named Distorture. I chose to analyse this digipak because I thought it
was the most eye-catching and well-put-together. Again, I do not want us to
model our own digipak on this as it looks too gothic and more suited to the
rock/indie genre so would not be suited to our album. The overall theme of the
digipak seems to be blood, as the only colour, aside from black and white, is
red. Also the images used are all of blood, whether there is blood in someones
hands or blood soaking into white fabric. This adds to the gothic theme. Red is
the boldest colour so would really catch peoples eyes in shops. The white is
used to break up all the red and I think connotes purity and shows that
something can be very dark but also have a good side which may link to the
sort of music that Distorture make.
