The Genre of our music video is Hip-Hop/Rap, and usually these focus on the artist and show alot about them, such as clothing, location, personality. Some may contain a dance routine, depending of the style they are portraying, in this case we decided to include one into our video. The location ties in with the Urban/Street style that HipHop/Rap tends to portray, this was a car park with a view of the city, the metal and concrete really does show this.
There is one case were there is editing on the beat and that is at the beginning where the text pops up on the beat of the music, we are also considering doing some edits to the beat at the end as he walks along the car park, at each beat he will jump forwards in time, and closer to the camera.
I think the video manages to sell the artist, as it pays alot of attention to him, from his clothing to him dancing, and pretty much anything he does, i think we were able to sell the artist as Urban/street.
The Artist also keeps a consistent gaze towards the camera each time he raps.
I think if we were to film some extra clips overnight, it will probably be more lip syncing at different angles to try and make it feel more 'fresh'
Task 2
This is the image I'm going to use for our ancillary product, It could be used for both the digipack and the magazine ad. The image without any effects and playing around with on photoshop looks good and has potential, especially with the sunset. Mise en Scene helps sell the artists street appeal, with his hoody, hat, trainers and his adidas bag, also the landscape sells the urban look.
This is the same image with some clear work done to it, I really like the silhouette of our artist, and it still sells the artist,as the 'artist' I would say it sell 'Me'. He is saying this city is mine, which helps tie in with the song, where the lyrics include this is my house as he is standing high up with landscape of the city behind him, so it ties in with the song name.
